Martin Shefter’s teaching and research focus on American political institutions. He teaches lecture courses on the U.S. Congress and on American Urban Politics. He teaches seminars on Contemporary American Politics and on the domestic politics of America’s wars. Several of his recent publications analyze how changes in the international system shape political institutions and the conduct of politics in the United States.
