I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Government. My research and teaching interests include international security, domestic sources of foreign policy, and the politics of authoritarian regimes. I am particularly interested in how domestic politics affect authoritarian leaders’ decisions about war, peace, and international cooperation, and am working on a book project and series of articles on this topic.
I received my Ph.D. in Political Science from Stanford University in 2009. I also hold a B.A. in Political Science from The Ohio State University and a Master’s in International History and Politics from the Graduate Institute of International Studies in Geneva, Switzerland.
